Huckleberry Music Camp prides itself on the ability to bring together senior, junior and Suzuki players for a week filled with music and fun.
The senior students have a rigorous schedule to further their solo, chamber and orchestral experience.
For some, this is a first-time opportunity to perform in an orchestra or play in a string quartet.
For others, this is a time to further their musical education and have lessons with our experienced
teachers. Huckleberry Music Camp has private lessons, chamber coaching, master classes and
orchestral rehearsals. Chamber music is an integral part of the camp. All students
may perform a solo work of their choosing at the end of the week.
With our world-class faculty, many of the senior students find that by the end of the week they are encouraged and enthusiastic about their playing.
The junior students are involved in many of the same programs as the seniors. They perform in a
junior orchestra, take part in junior ensembles and master classes. For the junior students, the
experience of watching the seniors perform is vital so they may see what can be accomplished in
a few years with dedication and perseverance. Also, their parents can see the result of
the hard work their children have put forth in the various concerts given by the junior students.
Huckleberry Music Camp is particularly appropriate for Suzuki students and their families.
For the students, it's a perfect opportunity to begin or further their musical journey with
a string instrument of their choice. They are involved in a number of Suzuki programs, and are
encouraged by their peers. They have a chance to see what music making is all about.
Some Suzuki parents take lessons themselves. The teachers in the Suzuki program are especially
trained in the Suzuki method of teaching.
For the family, this is the perfect vacation. They get a chance to relax in the beautiful natural setting of Bella Lake, Muskoka. Each family stays in a comfortable cottage at Billie Bear resorts. The cottages are fully equipped housekeeping cottage with a full kitchen including stove, fridge, utensils and dishes.
